COVID-19 PORTAL
STUDENT INFECTIO PROTOCOL
INFECTION PROTOCOLS
STUDENT INFECTION PROTOCOL
- Students with confirmed cases will quarantine at home for a minimum of 10 days and will transition to at-home learning, if health allows. If a student transitions to at-home learning during quarantine, that student will not be counted absent.
- Parents of students who may have been exposed by an infected student will be notified via email of the confirmed case. (Because of FERPA, individual names of infected students will not be disclosed).
- Student screening will take place at the beginning of the school year and once every week with the cooperation of parents and families.
- Classrooms and spaces of infected student will immediately receive a deep cleaning with a sanitizing fogging device that the district has obtained.
- Students exposed to infected students will be monitored for 10 days by a school nurse and at home by parents.
- Each campus will have an isolation room for any students showing symptoms of the virus.
- Infected students will be allowed to return to on-campus learning with written medical clearance from a physician.
- District will provide families with recommended practices from State Health Officials.

FAMILY INFECTION PROTOCOL
- District requests that families notify the district about any confirmed Covid-19 cases in the household.
- Students that have an infected family member may be placed on at-home learning or be monitored by a school nurse and by parents.

CLASSROOM AND CAMPUS INFECTION PROTOCOL
- Cumulative class and campus infections will be tracked and monitored daily and weekly.
- If a class or campus infection rate is drastically increasing, the district will look at quarantining an individual classroom, campus or entire district for at least 14 days. During this period, students and teachers will use our online learning platform; Canvas.

TEACHER INFECTION PROTOCOL
- Teachers with confirmed cases will quarantine at home for a minimum of 10 days and will teach from home, if health allows. If a teacher transitions to at-home teaching, that teacher will not take sick leave.
- Substitute teacher will be placed in the classroom to monitor students.
- Parents of students who may have been exposed by an infected teacher will be notified via email of the confirmed case. (Because of FERPA, individual names of infected teachers will not be disclosed).
- Classrooms and spaces of infected teacher will immediately receive a deep cleaning with a sanitizing fogging device that the district has obtained.
- Infected teachers will be allowed to return to on-campus learning with written medical clearance from a physician.

STAFF MEMBER INFECTION PROTOCOL
- Infected staff members with confirmed cases will quarantine at home for a minimum of 10 days and will work from home, if health and position allows.
- Parents of students who may have been exposed by an infected staff member will be notified via email of the confirmed case. (Because of FERPA, individual names of infected staff members will not be disclosed).
- Co-workers who may have been exposed by infected staff member will be notified and will be monitored for 10 days.
- Spaces of infected staff member will immediately receive a deep cleaning with a sanitizing fogging device that the district has obtained.
- Infected staff members will be allowed to return to campus with written medical clearance from a physician.
- Lindale ISD will require staff members to conduct daily self-screenings.
